Genital Warts Treatment: Combination Therapy
Anogenital warts can often recur with monotherapy--when a single treatment is used. Combination therapy can often provide a better result. An approach of physically or chemically detroying the warts, combined with a drug that stimulates the patient's immune defense against HPV is often more effective.
There is evidence that treatment of genital warts with imiquimod cream followed by excision of residual lesions provide better long-term clearance of anogenital warts for those whose treatment with monotherapy failed.
